Coryell Auger Sample Trio - Coolidge Returns

Debut album from powerhouse trio Coryell Auger Sample Trio, featuring Julian Coryell on guitar, Nicklas Sample on bass guitar and Karma Auger on drums. Recorded live in the studio with little or no rehearsal, the trio deliver high energy performances of jazz-rock infused with '70s funk and the blues. Although hard to categorise and with a sound and style distinctively their own, a favourable comparison to CAST's music could be the instrumental side of Robin Ford's Blue Line trio. The offspring of Larry Coryell, Brian Auger and Joe Sample, these aren't musicians living off the credentials of their famous fathers. They're seasoned players who have paid their dues and worked with the some of the biggest names in jazz, rock and pop. Julian Coryell, for instance, has worked with Carole King, Herbie Hancock, and produced for singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen. He's also performed and recorded regularly with his father Larry Coryell. Karma Auger cut his teeth playing in his father's bands and those of Eric Burdon's and Billy Cobham's. He also played with Robby Krieger of Doors fame. Nicklas Sample has been playing since early childhood and is a full-time member of both the Joe Sample Trio and The Crusaders.
