�Insomnia is a persistent or recurrentsleeplessness. When we sleep fitfully or lieawake night after night, we conjure up allmanner of images, fantasies and feelings,which in the hours of darkness or twilightmostly seem confused, larger than life andvery existential. That is how it is with ourchoice of Lieder. The pieces examine the greatfeelings and issues like love, death, hate,yearning, under the magnifying glass ofnocturnal sensitivity. Worlds arise in whichone no longer knows what is true and what isnot.
