Born to Czechoslovakian parents in Chicago, singer Irene Kral (1932 - 1972) was the younger sister of pianist and singer Roy Kral. best known for his partnership with singer Jackie Caine as Jackie & Roy.

Irene sang with bands on tours led by Woody Herman and Chubby Jackson, and worked with Maynard Ferguson, Stan Kenton, and Shelly Manne. She recorded for the small Ava label in 1963 and on this LP, Better Than Anything, presents her backed by a swinging rhythm section led by pianist Junior Mance.
