Billy Strayhorn - Piano Passion

Billy Strayhorn was known primarily as Duke Ellington's writing partner, but he also composed some wonderful items on his own including the Ellington band's signature tune Take The A Train. He was also a fine pianist as you will hear on these recordings, recorded in the USA in 1945/46 and 1950 including the famous duets with Duke, and in Paris in 1961 with The Paris String Quartet and The Paris Blue Notes.
