Zoot Sims - In Copenhagen

Danish Radio recorded these tracks live at the Slukefter Club in Copenhagen's Tivoli Garden on August 24 1978. Saxophonist Zoot Sims visited Denmark a few times and on this occasion he had one of the greatest house trios of all time � Kenny Drew (piano), Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen (bass) and Ed Thigpen (drums) � world renowned for the backing they gave to many American giants who were so well supported on their visits to Denmark. Their eloquence, like Zoot's, speaks for itself. Pianist Jimmy Rowles, who played in Zoot's quartet, went to some trouble to work up a library of lesser known songs which would suit the tenorist and In The Middle Of A Kiss, included on this CD, is one of the ones he chose.
