Joe Barbieri - Tratto Da Una Storia Vera

The title of this new album by Italian jazz vocalist Joe Barbieri translates as �Based On A True Story� and is a superb collection of songs as beautiful as they are personal by one of the most charismatic voices of our time. 8232;Four years after �Origami� and two since �Dear Billie� (his tribute album to Ms. Holiday), Naples-based Barbieri now returns to writing and singing his own songs for what is his most autobiographical work to date. The result is a bold album on which each track vibrates with true passion and honesty, and a diverse and vastly beautiful collection reminiscent of the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Shirley Horn. It also features a host of international talent among its contributors, including Fabrizio Bosso (trumpet), Chris Ott (trombone), string ensemble Onda Nueve and vocalists Sergio Cammariere and Tosca. Jobim�s favourite cellist Jacques Morelenbaum appears on the fantastic �Niente Di Grave�. The release of the album is preceded by the upbeat single �Promemoria�.
