Charlie Parker - Complete Bird At The Rockland

This set contains the celebrated Rockland Palace performance in its entirety, recorded by Bird�s wife Chan with his own tape recorder.

Among its highlights are the fact that Bird is showcased as the only horn throughout (and he is in wonderful form), and that the material includes Parker�s only recorded versions of some tunes, such as �Sly Mongoose� and �Gold Rush�.

As a bonus, three rare Birdland broadcasts have been added, including the only existing collaborations between the saxophonist and pianist Kenny Drew.
