This solo recording by the world-famous Japanese guitarist Tak Matsumoto is an eclectic mixture of jazz, blues and rock. It features top Japanese musicians and American contemporary jazz greats like drummer Ricky Lawson and guitarist and album co-producer Paul Brown as well as Larry Carlton, on the classic Sukiyaki.
The repertoire is mostly originals, such as Hana which is given an oriental flavour by the erhu playing of Chen Min amd the album closes with Tak's own interpretations of My Favorite Things and Romeo & Juliet. In 2011, Carlton and Tak won a Grammy for their 'Take Your Pick'. Tak Matsumoto is one half of Japan's most successful pop/rock group, B'z and has sold over 80 million records.
