Nigel Price Organ Trio - Hit the Road

The Nigel Price Organ Trio is led by one of Britain's finest guitarists, Nigel Price (ex-James Taylor Quartet), whose blend of flowing bebop lines, blues feeling and the will to swing has made him a big hit with modern jazz fans. 'Hit the Road' features nine tried and tested tunes that have evolved from hundreds of miles and hours on the road - a mixture of original Price compositions and covers of songs by Freddie Hubbard, Henry Mancini, Billy Strayhorn and others.

Together with Matt Home on drums and Pete Whittaker on Hammond organ The Nigel Price Organ Trio is one of the most exciting jazz bands in the UK today. Formed in 2002, the trio has worked hard, playing hundreds of venues both in the UK and abroad, including six residencies at Ronnie Scott's club in London. The by-product of this amount of work is a tight-knit chemistry rarely seen between three musicians.

The band draws unashamedly upon it's 1960's influences yet delivers an up to date take on the music with it's intelligent, enthusiastic, well arranged, soulful and above all swinging brand of jazz.
