Benet McLean - The Bopped And The Bopless

Following on from the successful album 'Live at the 606', multi-instrumentalist Benets second album for '33' reveals his arranging and writing skills for larger ensembles. The album features many leading musicians from the UK, including Gareth Lockrane, Ashley Slater, Noel Langley, Jason Yarde and vocalist Aydenne Simone.

McLean's fourth release, 'The Bopped and the Bopless', is a vocal and piano led collection of compositions and some favourite covers arranged for his quartet featuring Duncan Eagles on saxophone, The Wolf Harvey on bass and Saleem Raman on drums. The title of the album reflects the gap between extremes - the difference between rich and poor.

McLean is known in the jazz world for imaginative, virtuosic piano playing that draws effortlessly on his love of classical music, jazz, Hip-hop and swing. 'The Bopped and the Bopless' reveals an equally exceptional voice.
