Matt Dibble & Fabio Zambelli - Songs and Soundscapes

Clarinetist Matt Dibble and guitarist Fabio Zambelli met at the Guildhall School of Music in London in 2002, whilst studying Jazz on the postgraduate course. They have recorded and performed together as a duo and as part of a quintet, in London, Italy and Switzerland. 'Songs and Soundscapes' is a continuation of musical ideas explored in their previous work. The music consists of free improvisation (soundscapes) and composed material (songs) that nonetheless involves improvisation, and they are always trying to blur the line between the two modes of musical invention. Their influences and inspirations range across many jazz composers and performers, from different genres, including Miles Davis, Dave Holland, Keith Jarrett, Morton Feldman, Wagner, Tony Coe, Alan Hacker, Stan Getz, Artie Shaw etc.
