Shirley Smart - Long Story Short

Awarding winning cellist Shirley Smart's debut 33 Records release. 'Long Story Short' is an album showcasing her unique compositional and instrumental skills, drawing on a background which includes 10 years living in Jerusalem and working with Arabic, Turkish and North African musics.

The album features two of the UK's leading lights in world-influenced jazz - John Crawford on piano, and Demi Garcia Sabat on percussion, as well as special guests Nikki Iles on accordion, Nicolas Meier on guitar and Orphy Robinson on vibes.

Shirley has performed with acclaimed musicians including Avishai Cohen, Omer Avital, Yasmin Levy, Mulatu Astatke, Robert Mitchell, Antonio Forcione, and Alice Zawadzki among others, as well as leading her own projects.
