A sampler CD representing the male folk artists on the prestigious Fellside label. It represents a cross-section of performers from the early days of the folk revival, such as Bob Davenport and Hughie Jones (ex-Spinners), through the 1960s and 1970s notables such as Martin Carthy, Peter Bellamy, Steve Tilston and John Kirkpatrick and up-to-date with Spiers & Boden, Dr Faustus and James Fagan. Songwriters are represented by Clive Gregson and Jez Lowe.There is a wide range of singing styles and presentation ranging from unaccompanied singing to quite big productions. This collection presents some of the foremost performers and stylists around and together they reflect the range and diversity to be found on the folk scene and on the Fellside label.
