The Gerry Mulligan Quartet with Bob Brookmeyer was one of the best small groups in jazz history. Presented on this 2-CD set are all of the recordings made by the incarnation of this band featuring bassist Joe Benjamin (who only played regularly with Mulligan in 1957) and drummer Dave Bailey. It consists of three live recordings, captured during a European tour in Stockholm, Sweden, and in concerts at the Newport Jazz Festival, and at the Hollywood Bowl. Eight studio versions of songs performed at the concerts recorded by different formations of the Gerry Mulligan Quartet have been added here as a bonus. Includes 16-page Booklet.
