Musica Fiata/Wilson - Castello: Sonate 1629

The Sonate concertante in Stile moderno published by Dario Castello in two books in 1621 and 1629 were so ground-breaking that they continued to be reprinted until 1658. Castello's creations were long-lived during the seventeenth century, and have seen a revival of popularity in the last few decades - on this new disc, the Musica Fiata led by Roland Wilson offers an exemplary interpretation of sonatas from the second book.
