Bruch�s friendships, first with Joachim and then with Sarasate, inspired him so very much that he produced a violin compositional contingent forming what is by far the largest work group within his symphonic music: three concertos (or, including the four-movement Serenade, actually four), the Fantasy, a Concertino, and various other compositions � all of them high points in the concert literature of the nineteenth century.
