The three sessions here were recorded in NYC in 1945, two of them live (at the Apollo Theatre and the Zanzibar Club) and one studio session from Radio City Music Hall. The repertoire on this 44 track, double CD is classic Ellington/Billy Strayhorn material with the added bonus of several tunes Ellington never recorded commercially, like Fickle Fling, Hollywood Hangover and I'd Do It All Over Again.
