Back in the 90s, producer Stefan Winter met the drummer Jim Black as the JMT sideman of Tim Berne and Uri Caine. 20 years ago the young drummer fulfilled his dream of releasing his first leader album on the label, which is also home to the recordings of Tim Berne, Uri Caine and Paul Motion. For the anniversary of WINTER & WINTER, Jim Black is putting together his personal selection of recordings from his group ALASNOAXIS: Music for new wave and grunge fans who find rock too boring in the long run.
