Joe Williams & Harry Sweets Edison - Complete Small Group Sessions

This release presents four complete albums including all of the small group sessions recorded by the team of singer Joe Williams and trumpeter Harry Sweet Edison. Apart from these dates, their only recordings together consist of a big band album (included here as a bonus) and their participation on a couple of projects in 1971 and 1996. Included here are the long unavailable complete albums Together (Roulette SR52069), Have a Good Time with Joe Williams (Roulette SR52071), and A Swingin Night at Birdland (Roulette SR-52085). As a bonus, we have added a version of If I Could Be With You , which is the only song featuring both Williams and Edison on the Count Basie small group album Memories Ad-Lib, as well as the complete LP Joe Williams Sings About You! (Roulette SR52030), on which the singer is backed by a large orchestra conducted by Jimmy Jones, featuring Edison on trumpet and Ben Webster on tenor sax. Includes 20-page booklet.
