Mendelssohn Ravel Sollima marks Marie Begin's first recording asfirst violin with the Quatuor Saguenay. Born after the quartet's founding in 1989, Marie brings a freshness and colour to this album that is particularly well suited to the quartets of Mendelssohn and Ravel, who were in their late twenties when they composed these works.
Established in 1989 as the quartet in residence of the Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Quatuor Saguenay,(formerly Quatuor Alcan) celebrates its 33rd anniversary in 2022.
Recognized as an artistic beacon in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jeanregion, the quartet has a reputation for excellence that has grownthanks to numerous national and international tours, multiple radiobroadcasts and more than thirty recordings to its credit.
