Pierre Favre & Samuel Blaser - Same Place, Another Time

Critically acclaimed trombonist Samuel Blaser and legendary drummer Pierre Favre play a keen-eared and considered duo set that marries free jazz improvisation with swing. Save for two standards, Duke Ellington's Mood Indigo and Thelonious Monk's Round Midnight, the pieces on this extraordinary album of edgy, yet focused, free jazz improvisations, are credited jointly to Blaser and Favre.

Coming more than a decade after their Vol A Voile(Intakt) album, this music was released to coincide with Favre's 85th birthday. Its title alludes to Favre's frequent quip that both he and Blaser were born in the same part of Switzerland at different times, and generations apart.
