Linos Ensemble - Association for Private Musical Performances: The Chamber Music Arrangements

The Association for Private Musical Performances was founded in November 1918 by Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951) and several of his close associates. Its formation represented perhaps the most progressive and intensive of opportunities for this select Viennese musical circle: they were able to familiarise themselves with the latest contemporary works by international composers in the immediate aftermath of the First World War, a period sorely lacking in cultural optimism and innovation.
