Rockstar Records is celebrating its 50th anniversary - this triple CD (with 64-page booklet!) honours the music of the British TV series Boy Meets Girls (1959), with exclusive and partly never-published contributions from Johnny Cash , Gene Vincent, Marty Wilde, Eddie Cochran and many more. British television producer and manager Jack Good created Oh Boy!, a legendary and popular TV series that is considered the blueprint for Top Of The Pops. At the same time as being Marty Wilde's manager, he created a successful sequel with the follow-up series Boy Meets Girls. After the series was broadcast, it was discovered that ABC TV had deleted all recordings of the program. But there were already private and semi-professional recordings, supplemented by other archive finds, and the program's music were re-released over many years, at least in part, on Rockstar Records. With the three CDs here and a total of 128 tracks (including numerous dialogues from the series and with the artists), a maximum of documented and restored music from the program is now accessible again. In addition to the top stars Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran, there is not only Marty Wilde, but also names like Billy Fury, Jess Conrad and The Vernons Girls, Little Tony, Cherry Wainer, Lynn Cornell or The Firing Squad. A great document from right in the middle of the Big Bang of British pop culture, with Jack Good's TV work playing a key role.
