Rieany Plus - Songs For Rieany Plus

RIEANY PLUS: 3 savvy and road tested mucians, all with a long and rich history in music - Mostly in the Netherlands, but apart from his work with his own bands, BJ Baartmans (guitars/vocals) is also a much sought after side man for US artists touring Europe - He is also one of the key musicians in Matthews Southern Comfort. Together with Jan Hendriks (espcially know as guitarist for Holland's most popular band ever: DOE MAAR) he backs up singer Rieany Jansen (Midnight Hour, Boerenleenband, Rienne Va Plus).

Songs for Rieany Plus offers 12 songs that were arranged and produced by Baartmans and Hendriks. All songs were requested by the trio from renowned (male) Dutch songwriters. Their mission was to write songs from the perspective of the opposite gender.

As it turned out, this made for a collection of songs that perfectly fits Rieany's voice and personality.

Boudewijn de Groot, Ge Reinders, Jack Poels, Jan van der Meij, JP den Tex, Wouter Planteijdt, Eric van Dijsseldonk, BJ Baartmans, Philip Kroonenberg, Jan Hendriks, Bjorn van der Doelen, Jan van Bijnen en Iain Matthews (all household and well respected names in Ducty pop music) came up with americana and reggae and also folky popsongs with intruiging lyrics, in both Dutch and English.

Songs for Rieany Plus started off as a project for Dutch thatres, but the result also deserves international recognition.
