For the realization of Fragmente, the Vienna-based artist Matthias Jakisic left his established role as a violinist behind and, instead, assumed that of the conductor and listener. He entrusted the interpretaion of the pieces composed by him to this outstanding colleagues Lena Fankhauser (viola), Emily Stewart (violin), Nikolai Tunkowitsch (violin) and Asja Val?i? (cello). The album is reminiscent of string quartets from earlier centuries, but at the same time establishes a connection to the present.
