Joshua Brown; Paolo Giacometti - Schumann: Violin Sonatas Nos. 1 & 2; Fantasy, Op. 131

Evil Penguin is proud to present the first recording by Joshua Brown, winner of the second prize at Queen Elizabeth Competition 2024. For his debut disc, Joshua Brown has chosen a Schumann programme including the two Sonatas and the rare and tricky late Fantasie.

The struggle that Schumann so openly expresses through his music continues to bring me solace and companionship in difficult times. I hope that you can find similar comfort in it, and enjoy the perspective that Paolo and I have brought to this music that we both love. We greatly enjoyed our time with this music during the intense days of preparing and recording for this project.
