They traded for just two short years, but The Firm's place in rock history is secure, thanks to the release of two studio albums (The Firm, 1985; Mean Business, 1986) and a run of legendary live performances such as the one documented on Hammersmith Broadcast 1984. So confident were Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and Free / Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers in their new hard-rock supergroup that they staged a mini European tour even before the release of their self-titled debut album, pile-driving audiences with 'Radioactive', a future No.1 on the US rock charts, along with other standouts from that first record, including 'Closer', 'Midnight Moonlight' and their anthemic take on The Righteous Brothers' 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling'.

Fans may have been forced to ditch any expectations for the songs that had originally brought Page and Rodgers fame, but they soon realised that The Firm brokered deals entirely on their own terms.
