David Power - Threshold

Contemporary classical composer David Power is probably best known for his late 1990s piano work Eight Miniatures. Here he collects together archive and more current recordings in an eclectic mix of dark alternative post punk pop, piano pieces and electronica.

Threshold brings together the different facets of Power's musical explorations across several decades; from theEno influenced ambient electronic piecesVestiges 4,6and7 which date from 2013, to chamber music-Mosaic (2002) and Platinum (2011) - and theStockhausen influencedThirteenfrom 2019. The six rock songs all date from the early 1980s and feature two different band lineups from that time.
