Sonus Quintett - Sonus Quintett: Light

The Sonus Quintett is Germany's first reed quintet, consisting of clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, oboe, and bassoon. This unusual combination of woodwind instruments allows for imaginative and airy sounds beautifully showcased on the ensemble's Genuin debut album. The program includes the quintet's own transcriptions and the original composition Refraction by David Biedenbinder from 2015. The album title Light is reflected in various ways in the works: Gershwin's An American in Paris, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, and Grieg's famous Air from the Holberg Suite.
