Starting out as a group, Steely Dan evolved into a studio project spearheaded by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Steely Dan flaunted a cool, complex sound personifying the 70's Los Angeles & New York over seven albums. Steely Dan's best-selling album was 1977'sAja, which wascertified platinum. Three years later, they releasedGaucho which would be their last until 1995.
