Frank Zappa, live from 'Piknik' TV Show, Uddel Netherlands 18th June 1970.

I just have to go on stage, says Frank Zappa, and say 'Good evening, ladies and gentlemen', and the audience nudge one another and say 'Did you hear that? I don't know how he gets away with it. Man, he's really significant...

Following the moderately successful Burnt Weeny Sandwich and Weasels Ripped My Flesh, both recorded in the late 1960s and released in 1970, the original Mothers of Invention had disbanded. The reasons were almost typical Zappa: lack of acceptance, lack of understanding, lack of love. Zappa morphed the band into just The Mothers during this period and they were to last just seven months. They were Aynsley Dunbar, George Duke, Ian Underwood, Jeff Simmons, and Flo & Eddie (aka Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman).

Performed live on Dutch television show 'Piknik', in Uddel, Netherlands on 18th June 1970, broadcast on VPRO TV (Vrijzinnig Protestantse Radio Omroep). This finds Zappa at his most creative and subversive.
