Love As Fiction Records is thrilled to announce the 30th Anniversary Edition of Glide's iconic debut album, Open Up and Croon. This seminal record will beavailable on vinyl for the very first time on May 23, 2025. If you were anywhere near the Australian indie rock scene in the early '90s, Glide was a much-loved feature of the Australian scene. The musical legacy they built remains strong and resonates with fans old and new today.Over their career, Glide released four albums: Open Up & Croon (1995), Disappear Here (1996), Shrink-Wrapped Real Thing (1997) and Last (2000, posthumously, following the death of William Arthur in 1999, at the age of 33).Glide headlined relentlessly across Australia, toured with bands like Blur and Lush, and toured the US twice, including a show at SXSW. Their music gainedrecognition and rave reviews within the Australian music scene and in the US, where Open Up & Croon was made album of the year by the illustrious musicjournal, The Big Takeover.For the 30th Anniversary of Open Up and Croon, this special edition will be pressed on 180g vinyl with the lacquer and stamper meticulously crafted at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The release will include an 8-page insert booklet featuring liner notes written by Barry Divola (journalist, author and musician) and John Tingwell (former editor of Drum Media), providinginsights and anecdotes that enrich the album's storied history.The band and William Arthur's legacy is also being celebrated this year with the release of the documentary Disappear Here, produced by BendeHoedt.
