Violinist Magnus Boye Hansen and pianist Mathias Halvorsen explore the violin sonatas of Christian Sinding in this new release from LAWO Classics. For much of his life Christian Sinding (1856-1941) was a prominent figure in the Norwegian cultural landscape. He worked as a composer for more than 50 years through a time of societal and political upheaval.
Seemingly uninterested in the plethora of avant-garde movements materialising in the music world around him, Sinding crafted his own musical style: both his fascination with baroque and early music, and his own Norwegian heritage can be heard in these sonatas.
