Olicia - Liquid Lines

Olic�a consists of Fama M�Boup and Anna-Lucia Rupp. The duo live in Berlin and Copenhagen and share a common base in Dresden, Germany, where they met studying music, founding their own label o-cetera soon after. The two are also members of Sophie Hunger�s current band, supporting her latest album 'Halluzinationen'. There are no clear archetypes or distinct predecessors for Olic�a�s own musical aesthetics, with the songwriting across their debut double album 'Liquid Lines' ranging from the elegant minimalism of 'Texture of Words' to the exuberant rumble of 'Go Go Go', for which Olic�a have collaborated with the renowned French harpist and songwriter Laura Perrudin. Heavily based on voices and loops, augmented by both electronic and acoustic instruments, they channel it all into surprisingly immediate, concise and emotional pop songs with elements of fragmented electronic Soul and Gospel, playful multilingual Global Pop, deep emotional Folk and a Jazz-like approach to creating everything on the spur of the moment. There are also no pre-produced elements in their live shows and fully improvised songs regularly find their way into their sets.
