St John�s Smith Square is one of London�s most popular Classical music venues, the building is a masterpiece of English Baroque architecture that has survived fire, lightning, bomb plots and the Blitz. The beauty of the building is matched by an exceptional acoustic. The Orchestra of St John's Smith Square has launched its own record label OSJAlive. The label�s first release is John Lubbock�s critically acclaimed interpretation of Faure�s Requiem performed at the venue in April 2013 featuring Ilona Domnich (Soprano) and Johnny Herford (Bass) with the Orchestra of St John�s and the OSJ Voices. The CD includes the world premi�re performance of John Lubbock�s moving orchestration of Faure�s �Eight Songs�, originally written with piano accompaniment.
