The magnificent Leuven song manuscript, written at the French court between 1470 and 1475, contains fifty pieces by great Franco-Flemish composers of the 15th century, such as Johannes Ockeghem, Antoine Busnoys and Firminus Caron, as well as twelve recently rediscovered works that are not to be found in any other known manuscript. The present volumes 3 and 4 on PASSACAILLE mark the conclusion of the highly commendable and much acclaimed complete recording of this fascinating manuscript with the Sollazzo Ensemble.
