His verve and sensitivity are allied to unsullied articulation. Power and control are matched by a firm sense of direction and shape, climaxes were approached and quitted with a satisfying inevitability. Mursky has shown himself to be an artist of potentially wonderful talent. His playing of Haydn's Sonata was magical. 'The Daily Telegraph' on two previous Mursky recordings. Chopin composed his 27 '?tudes' between 1828 and 1840, a long period relative to his short life. They are the foundation of a new system of technical piano playing that was radical and revolutionary the first time they appeared. These '?tudes' are made of some of the most challenging and simultaneously evocative pieces of all the works in concert piano repertoire. Because of this, the music remains popular and often performed works in both concert and private stages. After a number of national and international competition successes, Eugene Mursky had his status as an International artist confirmed with the award of 1st Prize in the prestigious World Piano Competition, 1994, held in London and also the Chopin Prize for the best Chopin interpretation.
