Daniel Gortler - Edvard Grieg: Lyric Pieces

With his Lyric Pieces Grieg kept a kind of poetic piano diary.

Between 1867 and 1901, he wrote 66 short character pieces, which were published in ten booklets. Quickly becoming popular favorites, some of them are now part of the standard repertoire.

For his debut album on PROSPERO, the Israeli-American pianist Daniel Gortler has selected his 21 personal favourites.
