Calum MacColl is a musical director, producer, songwriter and guitarist who has worked with international artists for over 35 years - In 2022 he will release his first solo album 'About Time' (Red Grape Music), written & recorded during the enforced break from touring during the pandemic. As son of folk legends Peggy Seeger and Ewan MacColl (and half-brother to Kirsty MacColl), he has been playing music and singing almost since he was born. From touring with his parents as a child he later went on to produce many of their albums. This included Peggy Seeger's Grammy nominated traditional folk trilogy 'Heading for Home' and her award-winning 2014 album 'Everything Changes' for which Calum and Peggy won the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 'Best Original Song' for their co-written track 'Swim To The Star'. Calum has also produced and co-written Peggy's highly acclaimed 2021 album 'First Farewell'.

'About Time' comes out of a mental health crisis triggered by the death of Calum's best friend and musical partner Colin Vearncombe (aka Black). It fully acknowledges the role that depression can play in creativity, both in the going down and in the resurfacing again..
