Stadtsingechor Zu Halle - Gott ist unsre Zuversicht: Motets by Scheidt, Telemann, Rheinberger

�God is our refuge and strength� � the present disc uses this motto to bring together choral music from the sixteenth to the twentyfirst centuries. Beginning with the sole surviving motet from Martin Luther�s pen, the Stadtsingechor zu Halle performs a great range of captivating styles and sounds, exploring compositions by Johann Walter, Johann Pachelbel, and Georg Telemann through to contemporary works by Thomas Buchholz and Wolfram Buchenberg. The ensemble�s director Clemens Fl�mig knows how to engage and employ the Gothic ambience and acoustics of Halle�s St Moritz Church to great effect.
