ffortissibros; Benedikt Kantert - Friedrich Wilhelm Kucken: Forgotten Works for Men's Choir

With the current album, ffortissibros present the first recording of selected works for male choir by Friedrich Wilhelm Kucken (1810-1882). The Schwerin music publisher Edition Massonneau has edited previously unpublished autographs, providing detailed insights into the works of the composer, who was highly esteemed during his lifetime. The major themes of Romanticism, love, nature, and faith are masterfully set to music by Kucken, ranging from folk-like melodies to highly nuanced forms of expression. The colorful interpretation by the choir's young voices under the direction of Benedikt Kantert reveals a forgotten treasure of male choir literature.
