As the album's title indicates, this is a session made up of composition from the great American song book and jazz standards, including Old Devil Moon (Burton Lane), I Didn't Know What Time It Was (Richard Rodgers), Grand Central Station (John Coltrane), Nica's Dream (Horace Silver), and Milestone (Miles Davis), among others. Playingsoprano saxophone throughout,Liebman is supported by an all-star trio featuring pianist Mulgrew Miller, bassist Rufes Reid, and Victor Lewis on drums.
