Yes, Yves Brouqui is French and a phenomenal guitarist/composer and this is his SteepleChase debut album, but no, this is not of French Gypsy tradition. He is out of pure American modern jazz vein with a touch of French elegance. He commutes between Paris and NYC performing and recording.
