Lauford Cripps Live at BGFM captures three of the original band The Chartists (whose first album in 1982 was the very first Steam Pie Release) performing for the Daniel James folk show on the Blaenau Gwent community station. The album highlights the original compositions of Wynford Jones and includes songs that commemorate Britain's worst mining disaster, the nationalisation of the mines in 1947 as well as celebrating the annual chapel trips escaping the valleys for Barry Island.
