2024 repress of this classic Stan Tracey 2CD set, featuring the complete 1976 LP 'Captain Adventure' and 7 bonus tracks. The recording gives us the chance to hear what was, as John Fordham noted, one of the great Stan Tracey line-ups; the quartet featuring Art Themen, Dave Green and Bryan Spring.

Like Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, the two names to which his music is constantly appended, Tracey has always had an uncanny gift for finding just the right musical accomplices and in Themen, Green and Spring he had a band of formidable creativity and equal dependability, perhaps itself the perfect recipe for a working jazz group.
