The early albums of Robert Fox, in particular his journey style albums, conjured up visions of faraway places with epic soundscapes that somehow captured the essence of places, or mythical and personal journeys. In recent years, Robert Fox has released a diverse selection of albums that has seen his music develop to encompass darker shades in his soundtrack music, but he has also developed a gentler, more accessible and melodic side to his compositions that began to appear on the excellent Talking Heads and developed through to the more recent Touching the Serpents Tail and that has now matured magnificently on Evergreen.Make no mistake, Evergreen is a stunningly beautiful and evocative album, full of emotion and a whole load of memorable and haunting themes that re-affirms his status as one of the UK finest electronic musicians. Robert Fox has returned to his roots with; Evergreen quite literally, by adding another superb journey style album to his canon in the true spirit of his early releases, but taking his inspiration not from foreign lands, but from his own very personal impression of his homeland, England. The album has the feel of a seasoned and mature traveller, finally returning home and at ease with himself and his music. Absolutely stunning!
