Phillip Walker - Tough Blues

Born in Louisiana in 1937, Phillip Walker got his break in the 50's as guitarist with Zydeco king Clifton Chenier. Since first working with producer Bruce Bromberg in 1969 he has enjoyed consistent success with albums on labels such a Playboy, HighTone, Rounder, Alligator and Black Top. A significant influence on Robert Cray, he wrote the younger man's first major success, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark.
