Conjunto Alma Jarocha - Sones Jarochos

Sones Jarochos features the native folk music of the Veracruz region along Mexico�s gulf coast. The distinctive music of son jarochos is played on the jarana, a small guitar with eight to 12 strings; the requinto, a four-stringed guitar; and the arpa, a harp. Groups typically range in size from four to eight performers. This 1978 recording by Conjunto Alma Jarocha was recorded on location and includes their version of the most widely known son jarocho �La Bamba.�
