'Playdreaming' by the Daryl Runswick Quartet was recorded at Wavendon in 1981. The release on ASC Records continues the label's promotion of Runswick, who is regarded as one of the finest Jazz musicians of the 70s and 80s both as a composer and player.

ASC Records released 'The Jazz Years' last year to celebrate Daryl's 70th birthday and filmed his One Man Show at Cadogan Hall.

Daryl Runswick (b.1946) began his career in the 1960s, playing with leading UK jazz musicians such as Dick Morrissey and John Dankworth. As a session musician, he appeared on the first The Alan Parsons Project and recorded with Elton John. In later years, he worked with Simon Rattle, Pierre Boulez, the Nash Ensemble and the London Sinfonietta. Runswick held the post of Head of Composition at the Trinity College of Music between 1995 to 2005 and is the author of 'Rock, Jazz and Pop Arranging'.
