Hungry Ants - Myrmidons

Hungry Ants release their second album on Babel - the music is imaginative, creative and very much of the moment. Influences from jazz merge with contemporary sounds and beats. The compositions are inspired from a number of sources including silent films and the paintings of Paul Klee, and the interplay between the musicians is striking. Many of the compositions are by pianist and keyboardist Richard Fairhurst. Though just 26, he has already been a Steinway International Artist for over three years. The album's title, Myrmidons, refers to ant people in Greek mythology - the sleeve is designed by Gee Vaucher of the the band Crass.
